| WINTER
2012 LESSON SCHEDULE
Beth
is busy composing her next newsletter . . . please stay
tuned :-)
OPTION
#1: OPEN STUDIO TIME – You will pay for a trimester
of lessons (Fall: September 1 – December
31; Winter: January
1 - April 30; Summer; May 1- August
31) in advance. For that one tuition payment, you will
have the opportunity to use the studio for as many hours
as desired during open studio hours. During the 26 scheduled
open studio hours per week, I will be available to teach
and help you as needed. You can use the library, the computer
to design your next project, pick my brain, weave, or
just visit with your weaving buddies - whatever you desire.
Individualized instruction geared to your interests and
level (beginner through intermediate) on either eight-shaft,
four-shaft, or rigid heddle looms will be available. There
will be no need to sign up for any particular time - just
show up when it’s convenient for you. Loom use is included
in tuition cost.
OPTION #2: WEEKLY LESSONS – You may sign
up for one day a week, for either a 2, 2.5 or 3 hour lesson
time for ten consecutive weeks. (September
– December; January – April; May - August). With this
option you can attend only on the day and time slot you
choose; there will be no exchanges or makeup lessons or
refunds for missed lessons. At the end of the 10 weeks,
if the project is not completed, then you will have the
option of renting the loom (by the month) and finishing
the project on your own or purchasing additional lesson
time on a pay as you go basis.
OPTION #3: PAY AS YOU GO – In Option
#3 you rent the table loom, paid in advance (floor looms
are not available for rental) and pay for just the days
you come to the weaving studio. In this option, you will
pay that day for the number of hours you attend (2 hour
minimum). Please remember your checkbook as no invoicing
will be available.
Materials and yarns are sold at a 20% discount. Special
workshops taught by other teachers will occasionally be
scheduled (for additional registration fees) to expand
your knowledge of weaving theory. Children’s classes are
also available.

Children’s
Learn to Weave a Scarf Class
Starting Wednesday, March 21, 2012
Beth Guertin from A Place to
Weave in Waltham, will be teaching a four week
workshop at the farm for children age 8 and older. Participants
will design a stripe scarf in cotton yarn (8” X 60”) on
a Cricket Rigid Heddle Loom. They will warp the loom for
the scarf; weave the scarf and twist fringe. Looms can
be taken home to weave on the project during the week.
In addition to weaving, children will also have an opportunity
to visit with CCF’s sheep, learn from the farmer about
the care and maintenance of these animals and gain an
understanding of how yarn is made. Cost per child is
$80 including yarn. Class is limited to 8 participants. |
