Boat
Shuttles & Hardwood Bobbins
Two
boat shuttles:
The regular 12" boat shuttle, and the 9" “Shuttlette”.
Both accept the 4" hardwood bobbins. The shuttles
are made of hardwood and are finely sanded and finished.
A spring operated shaft holds a bobbin securely yet
releases easily for quick, convenient reloading. It
is recommended that you use the regular shuttle for
general weaving and the “Shuttlette” for
narrow warps.
Hardwood
bobbins:
4" in length and are turned from solid birch. Although
they are designed especially for use with the boat shuttles
and bobbin winders, they will fit most other shuttles
and bobbin winders quite neatly.
Rag
Rug Shuttle: A practical
shuttle for thick weft yarns or rag strips, the rag
rug shuttle is designed to hold the maximum amount of
yarn for rug weaving. Made of maple, it is available
in 16" and 24" lengths.
Ski
Shuttle: The
perfect shuttle for extra heavy weft yarns, or rug rags,
the ski shuttle is designed so that you can wind yarn
around it or in a figure 8 pattern. The curved design
prevents the shuttle from catching warp ends as you
weave. The overall length of the ski shuttle is 21"
and the height is 1-1/2".
